Swindon promotes regeneration pipeline at UKREiiF

Swindon town centre and surrounding development land

Swindon Borough Council took the town’s regeneration and investment prospects to UKREiiF, the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum, held in Leeds from 19 to 21 May 2026.

The forum brings together local authorities, investors, developers and housebuilders, and the council used it to promote a number of major schemes. Among them was Knowledge Central, a proposed district around the railway station that could accommodate up to 4,000 new homes, and Kimmerfields, a brownfield regeneration site in the town centre. The council also confirmed that £20 million of government funding had been secured towards a new entertainment venue in the central area.

Swindon’s pitch to investors reflects a wider ambition to accelerate delivery across the borough, from town centre regeneration through to the strategic urban extensions on its eastern edge. Continued investment of this kind supports the infrastructure and the confidence on which large residential schemes such as the New Eastern Villages depend.
