Swindon’s Local Plan Review

The current Local Plan Swindon have in place is the key planning document providing the strategy for the area to deliver growth up to the year 2026. Under Government guidance local plans or policies are to be reviewed and assess whether they need updating at least once every 5 years.

Swindon Borough Council are currently carrying out a review of the current Local Plan up to the year 2036. The first stage, an issues and options public consultation, took place during the 2017/18. A further public consultation is now taking place to review a plan which proposes additional strategies to meet future housing and employment needs. The consultation period began 29 July and runs until 23 September 2019.
